Just killin'.

Dave Stryker, organ trio (w/ vibes) and R&B/soul favorites? What more could you want? This set of reworked soul/R&B classics is highly recommended listening. The recording itself is outstanding (headphone listening encouraged) and the performances are outstanding and always soulful. The stereo imaging and mix of the recording really make you feel like your standing in the center of the band, with the sound of the Organ and the Vibes enveloping you and almost wrapping around your head (again…try headphones!) Dave Stryker's tone is very strong and IMO one of his recorded best…warm but never muddy. The most impressive thing about this effort is the smart and musical way the tunes were handled. Either by instrumentation or arrangement, these tunes never feel like Muzak covers but sound instead like soulful and respectful interpretations of strong, classic melodies. Jazz at it's best, and a super strong outing from Dave Stryker and his band. My personal favorite to date. Get it!

Monday Morning Jam Session

This CD is everything! Love. I feel like I am at a live concert. I plan to surprise my Dad with this one for Father's Day. Chill out with a glass of wine and enjoy.

My Favorite Itunes Purchase Ever!

This has to be the finest work from Dave Stryker. This album by far is my favorite one. I listen to it on the road, at home, and never grow tired of it. He just kills it on so many of these old but good tunes. His music is fun, up beat, and relaxing all in one.

Whether he's leading his own group, Blue to the Bone, or playing as a sideman to great jazz musicians like vocalist Kevin Mahogany, guitarist Dave Stryker's style has strong blues and soul-drenched undercurrents. Stryker was raised in Omaha, NB, but has made New York City and suburban northern New Jersey his home since 1980. Stryker began playing guitar at age 10, and by the time he was 12, he'd discovered the blues. He learned to play from listening to records, and recalled the first record he...
