Customer Reviews

A French Mastermind in the art of creating music.

Downloaded this album yesterday, so gave it a full 24 hours before I would write anything and let the music sink in.

As i am writing away, Northern Lights is playing in the background. The Album is awesome, each and every-song has its own twist and a slight different style. The Lyrics are very well written, some French phrases and verses add a unique feel and loveliness this the songs. I would really recommend this album to anyone that is looking for something new and different from whats playing right now. If you like David Guetta you will love Andy Favre, there music is in one way very similar in feeling but yet quite different in style.

Very well done...looking forward to hear more music from this guy.

Quest is just the beginning...

Quest is a rare gem and a fantastic debut by a hyper-talented artist named Andy Favre. Favre captures something of Trent Reznor behind the scenes, arranging every note meticulously and playing every instrument on every track of Quest. Perhaps one day, like Reznor, Favre will adopt his own on stage persona that he will become one in the same with. It is difficult to say, but that is more because this record is less Nine Inch Nails than it is something between Blaqk Audio and Armin Van Burren. Quest is economical and lacks fluff or filler. At only 9 tracks, the CD takes us through a myriad of emotions. While the meat of this record is electronic and dance, the opening and closing tracks are what define it. The mysterious instrumental intro "My Time" is just curious enough to keep our attention into the next track. But it is so ambiguous a track that even we the listeners don't know what to expect. And once the beats die out, "Your Divinity" caps off the record in an almost haunting way. Were the tracks we just listened to only inspired emotions and fleeting? Was it all just a moment lost? The woman Favre sings about is almost unreachable, and before we can get a real answer, it's lost. Just like a dream. Quest is inspired and leaves us craving for more. In an era where bands are releasing full length experience albums as single track files to be experienced without the distracting interruption of a pause (Linkin Park's "A Thousand Suns" and T.A.T.U.'s "White Robe: Transcendent Mix), we can only hope that Favre may too write a concept record that will take us on another Quest. What will his Downward Spiral sound like? Only Quest 2 will tell us.
