One of the best...

This band, Kill Hannah, is one of the best glam-rock bands that I have heard in a long time. If u like rock with a dream-pop twist, then you'll adore this album!!

e-punk done glam style

Although easily categorizable as eyeliner punk, a genre having more to do with the androgyny of a band lead than their sound, Kill Hanna is post-grunge glam rock done right. It's manic and kinetic, upbeat with out being saccharine, a very nice album, but honestly lacks some of the wonderful grind and crunch of their earlier albums, and fans of those may find this offering slightly over produced. Album flow is also an issue for me, as track #4 seems to be completely different from the rest of the album, and at the very least should have been hidden in a bonus track, if not axed from the album completely.

Sure, the vocals are feminine.

But Mat manages to pull it off. :] Now, I've heard a few of Kill Hannah's pre-Atlantic songs, and the adding and taking away of members has changed the sound quite a bit. But that's not saying they sounded bad. As a matter of fact, it's actually really really good. =]

Kill Hannah was essentially vocalist/guitarist Mat Devine's dorm room four-track baby until a move to Chicago in 1995. After recruiting a few supporting players, Devine and Kill Hannah debuted the sound -- a glitzy mix of goth tendencies and fashionably crunchy modern rock. Steady local gigs followed, as did a series of self-released EPs and a couple of albums (1997's Here Are the Young Moderns, 1999's American Jet Set).
