Horrible "fuzzy" piano sound!

I can't say anything about the performance, because I couldn't get past the spongy, fuzzy sound of the piano, but this isn't limited to the piano; it's not consistent, but it emerges just when you don't want it to. The opening of the Rachmaninov concerto is telling. The first chord has "fuzz" all around the sound and this continues. I've already deleted the whole album, even if Apple doesn't give me a refund. I've noticed this with a number of Universal downloads (whether mp3 or flac) from other sites so it doesn't seem to be an iTunes issue. Indeed, I've had this problem mostly with labels coming out of Universal--Decca, too (I just trashed a Brendel Beethoven Sonatas set for the same problem with sound and bought the cd). The Yuja Wang "Sonatas and Etudes" album has a more tolerable piano sound, though I detect the same problem there; it's just not as bad, so I'm keeping that album. In that album, Wang demonstrates fabulous technique--she can play anything with mastery and utter control, but I'm finding her playing, at least for now, beautifully crafted, but perhaps with too much of a sense of it being crafted.

ok guys.

Ok guys.
I'll say the album may come across as somewhat common and the sound quality is kinda sad however! it, in no way, does her justice. She is infinitely better live in concert. I mean, after one of her concerts, there will be no doubts on her ability or potential.

Yuja, you're awesome! Keep getting better!

Gorgeous concerto 2

After reading some had bad quality from downloading this from iTunes, I decided to buy classical on CD format instead. Rach concerto 2, its first movement is gorgeous and rich in sound. The orchestra and Yuja sounds fresh and romantic. Third movement is intense and makes you want to jump off your seat. The Rach 2 is one of the best recording I have heard. Very happy to have this addition to my Rach collection. Yuja was very lucky to work with Mr Abbado and Mahler Symphony.

Yuja Wang is one of those exceedingly rare pianists to have become a major international presence by her 21st birthday. Having performed by then with such orchestras as the New York, St. Petersburg, and China philharmonics, and the Chicago, San Francisco, and Houston symphony orchestras, she transitioned almost overnight from an unknown but hugely talented teenager to arguably the most famous Chinese-born female pianist. And with a multi-disc recording contract with DG and a schedule of more than...
