iTunes Review

For Come Around Sundown, Kings of Leon trimmed their shaggy manes and introduced a sleeker, more sophisticated sound. The south-of-the-Mason-Dixon perspective still prevails on singles like “Radioactive,” but artsy, new wave guitar tendrils imbue their proven sound with something unexpected. The album comes with iTunes LP — adding photos, videos, credits, and a song visualizer.

What's So Wrong With Success?

As Caleb said himself... "We can't go back and teach ourselves how to be bad musicians..." It's really sad that some people believe KOL has lost the raw emotion of their first two albums. Passion is much more effective when it's subtle - when a listener can relate to the pain and love and intimacy lingering just beneath the surface. If you don't understand that the chorus of "The Immortals" is the very definition of emotion, then your taste, as well as your intelligence needs to be called in for questioning.

Come on people...

Music is music if you don't like it don't rate it! Kings of Leon is just great in this album! Who's with me?

Boring just about sums it up.

I've listened to this cd multiple times now and the word "boring" just keeps coming to mind..Although you clearly hear the boys have grown musically, perhaps the beauty all along of KOL was their immaturity musically..And i understand that with maturity and growth comes perhaps a different sound. But wouldnt you think the sound and music you played when first starting out is the music you love and wanna play all the time?..I mean, when I was young and loved classic Van Halen I would die to be out performing songs that sounded like Van Halen, something tells me today I'd still wanna be playing like Van Halen and not The Moody Blues. Id still rather listen to songs like Mollys Chamber, Black Thumbnail,Four Kicks, Red Morning Light..thats whats so great about music, the songs are timeless even when the bands eventually arent.

Formed: 2000 in Nashville, TN

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Initially embraced as "the Southern Strokes" for their resurrection and reinvention of Dixie-styled rock & roll, Kings of Leon steadily morphed themselves into an experimental rock outfit during the 2000s. The Tennessee-bred quartet debuted in 2003 with the Holy Roller Novocaine EP, whose blend of raw, unpolished boogie rock was further explored on their debut full-length, Youth & Young Manhood. Such revivalist music was matched by a similarly revivalist appearance -- including long hair, mustaches,...
