Awesome album, still fresh, slick production

I love this album, getting Rick Rubin involved (who's done some of my most favorite albums) definitely added a slicker sound, while still staying true to the party go-crazy atmosphere that all of GB's albums have. They are also one of the most amazing live band in the world. I can't say this is my favorite of all their albums because each one is so different like a child but I listen to this at least a few times a week. I wonder why it's being rereleased though. Love this band!!! Get all their albums and side projects are solid too.

Evolving Gogol...

There are some good sounds here, but it's hard to top the previous albums without sounding the same. So evolve they did! It left me yearning for more gypsy punk though. I know Eugene is moving away from the roots that made GB so cool and original and I understand why. Eastern Europeans are not exactly the top fans of the group, yet this strong flavor they brought was a serious connection for us.
I fear now that they are pass their prime which is so common after 10yrs. Hey, even the Stones had to go back into their old songbook from the 60's because their fans yearned for those sounds! So please, Eugene, Voi-La Intruder!
