Good but where is Gabriel & Dresden's Remix

I like the Pet Shop Boys remix and the Like Rebel Diamonds remix is alright but I am extremely disappointed with iTunes that they did not release the Gabriel & Dresden version which is by far the best. I heard it live when they spun at Club Vinyl in Denver and it was one of the most nostalgic songs I'd ever heard. I will not buy this EP until there remix is also featured. In the meantime all of you considering purchasing these remixes should check out Dave Dresden's myspace page where you can listen to there version. Trust me it will fuel you for a few days.

This is a great idea

This EP by the Killers was a great idea, and gives us new perspectives on an already great song. The Pet Shop Boys Remix of the song is upbeat, and beautifully reinvents the song for a bigger audience. Fundamentally, it is the same song with the chorus being strategically placed in different areas of the song with the Pet Shop Boys themselves singing the backups. The Steve Bays remix is a nice remix, but it does seem messy at times. It is great, but after hearing the Stars Are Blazing Mix, it pales in comparison. Now, the Like Rebel Diamonds Mix is actually an acoustic version of the song. The Killers re-recorded the song, with Brandon Flowers, obviously, giving the song new vocals. It's great to hear a great song with a new twist, but three of them is just baffling. From a remix to an acoustic version, this was smart on the Killers behalf to release these versions of their "favorite song". If you are into remixes buy the songs, if you are into acoustics buy that one instead. If you like them all, buy them all. If you don't, well then don't. I recommend this for anyone who likes the Killers, and anyone who wants to expand their horizons.

First good EP from Sam's Town

With this new release, I think The Killers' credability will come back to them. This EP actually is two remixes and a semi-acoustic version of Read My Mind (the 'Like Rebel Diamonds Mix is actually semi-acoustic, not a remix)... These remixes and semi-acoustic versions of the song definitely live up to par (Unlike the When You Were Young Remixes sadly... and no Bones Remixes!!!) The Pet Shop Boys' remix is a straight forward remix with added layers that give the song a spacial feel, and the Steve Bays Mix is a bit more agressive. Both remixes enjoy the last verse of the song (The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds) and definitely show it... Either way, this is the first must have EP from Sam's Town (Although I like Sam's Town better - once it grew on me as it had to - than Hot Fuss,) Hot Fuss had better singles and EP opportunities than Sam's Town... But this EP brings back The Killers' strong display of having the ability to show themselves up, which is a great thing for a band to strive for, especially after having such an amazing debut...

Biography

Formed: 2002 in Las Vegas, NV

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Few bands in the early 2000s rose so quickly to the forefront of pop music as the Killers. With a mix of '80s-styled synth pop and fashionista charm, the band's street-smart debut, Hot Fuss, became one of 2004's biggest releases, spawning four singles and catapulting the group -- particularly their dandyish, 22-year-old frontman, Brandon Flowers -- into the international spotlight. Hot Fuss reveled in the garish glitz of the band's native Las Vegas, spinning tales of androgynous girlfriends and illicit...
