Album Review

More skittish, more fun, and sometimes even more soulful than his walking dead name and horror-themed cover artwork imply, dubstepper Zomboy comes alive this 2013 EP, showing off a wide range of skills in a short, sweet package. Lead track "Terror Squad" and third number "Raptor" represent the U.K. producer's mainstream side with the former being a crowd-pleasing banger that puts hands in the air, while the latter gets loud and skittish with some Girl Talk-like samples flying about. "Braindead" is surprisingly small and cool with a classic 2-step and garage sound right round MJ Cole or Sunspot, then the closing show-off "Bad Intentions" runs the gamut, starting off like Gary Numan or Skinny Puppy with some stern electro-throb before going the full Skrillex and dropping the bass through the floor. Fun and filling, Reanimated is a Zomboy to run toward.

Customer Reviews

It's a awesome Zomboy EP with some experimenting songs! Here's my reviews:
Terror Squad 4.5/5: Yes I get that he "stole" it from Skrillex but even so I find it so much better than AIFILAB. Great Song, Very Sick.

Braindead 4/5: Good song, it's not my favorite Zomboy track ever but it still has a nice beat and great drop!

Raptor 5/5: My ABSOLUTE favorite on the EP I love the Dog Blood like style! Keep it up!

Bad Intentions: 4/5 It's a good song, but not the Zomboy I really enjoy. His other styles are better to me. But nonetheless I still like it especially dat intro!

I'd recommend this to any Dubstep/Brostep fan! Pick up Reanimated EP today!

Terror Squad / 9.0
Brain Dead / 8.5

Bad Intentions 10.0

Not Copying Skrillex

Zomboy is not copying Skrillex idiots! The Recess album with All Is Fair In Love And Brostep which supposedly sounds like this was released in early 2014 when this was released late 2013. Get your facts straight.

Zomboy is Joshua Mellody, a sound engineer whose aggressive, bloodthirsty tracks range from stadium-ready dubstep to drum'n'bass and electro-house. Born in a small town near Cornwall, England called Penzance, Mellody came to America, where he worked in recording and engineering before returning to the U.K. After releasing some electro tracks -- mostly cover versions -- under the name Place Your Bet$, Mellody moved back to Guildford, U.K., put his love of Skrillex and Rusko into his work, and became...
