iTunes Review

Led by the singalong hook and stomping thrust of "Rebel Beat," the Goo Goo Dolls make a forceful return with their tenth studio album, Magnetic. The song sets a precedent for an album of melodic rock singles that demonstrate singer/guitarist John Rzeznik's evermore sophisticated knack for coupling emotional lyrics with immediately familiar hooks. A perfect case-in-point is "Slow it Down," which has a sweeping arc akin to the group's 1999 smash "Slide," and yet, for all the big guitars, the album's most skillfully crafted heartbreaker comes with an acoustic tune, "Come to Me."

Come To Me

A great new album with some big hits on it like Come to Me and Rebel Beat. Happy they are out on the road again.

Need to get back to basics

The last two albums were totally bland and forgettable and this new single is absolute dreck. The boys need to lock themselves in a room and start playing and writing as a band again, no more of this created in the studio, souless garbage.
Where is the magic found on Car Wash, Boy, Dizzy and Gutterflower?

different but still great to listen to!

when i first listened to magnetic i could def hear alot of today's musical styles on this album and i thought to myself if this was any other band it might not appeal to me but the goo goo dolls somehow made it work, still the great songwriting, still the great vocals the music is different but very upbeat and lively for the most part.there are many people who may be on the fence about this album and that's understandable, just like after the hold me up album there was a majority of people who said that they sold out when sscw was released, everyone has an opinion.for myself in this day and age i think it's a good move as long as the next album doesn't sound like katy perry or bieber lol.give this album a try people it's actually very good!as a long time fan of the goo goo dolls i'm just happy they are still around.

Early in their career, the Goo Goo Dolls were frequently dismissed by critics as mere imitators of the Replacements; however, they refined and mainstreamed their sound to become one of the most popular adult alternative rock bands of the 1990s, selling millions of records to audiences largely unfamiliar with their influences. That's no knock on the band, either -- the music simply improved in craft and accessibility as the years progressed, and radio happened to be receptive to a style that, one...
