Remarkable reworking of a classic
When I heard about this "reconstruction" of such a classic piece, I was 100% sure I was going to hate it. Boy, was I wrong. This is not John Adams or some other 20th/21st century minimalist deconstructing Vivaldi's famous work into something unrecognisable, which is what I thought it would be. Rather, a smart and witty re-working of a classic, paying homage to the original while refreshing such beloved and familiar themes. HIGHLY recommended.
Needs correct pricing
This is an amazing album. Would love to buy it, but currently it’s got funky pricing on iTunes. You can buy the digital download from elsewhere on the internet for a little over 11 dollars.
Transformed from Baroque to Modern
At first, I must admit that I was appalled that someone would "recompose" Vivaldi's masterpiece. I did not care for it at first, but upon further listening I've discovered how beautiful and ingenious it is. He's taken a Baroque style masterpiece and turned it into a Modern masterpiece. The allegro movements are very intense and the adagio movements are hauntingly beautiful. Stunning and breathtaking music!
