The first track "Monster" isn't great, but then again, it isn't bad... Although it does leave me wondering "Are they influenced by Voivod, or Dream Theater"? The issue however, is that none of the songwriting, vocals, or the lyrics measure up to either of the previously mentioned bands. Not even close! As the album moves on, it just becomes more apparent that the pieces of the puzzle claiming to be an album never really came together very well. That being said, slick album art does not make for a great album. Unfortunately, that is all you get here. A nice album cover housing a mediocre mishmash of songs. The thin production leaves very little to be desired as well. Sadly, the only "Recurring Theme" here is one clunker of a song after another, and no real cohesive band dynamic. 2/5

I seriously love this album.

I stumbled upon this band after seeing that the were playing nearby. I really had no idea what they were going to sound like as I hit play. Then it started sounding a bit like dream theater. I'm not the biggest Dream Theater fan. I don't hate them but I don't absolutely love them either. I'm not a huge prog metal fan either mainly because I haven't listened to it much, but I love this album and now am going to listen to more prog metal. This is a great debut album and because of it I am now going to their show.

A Beautifully Crafted Debut From A Band With Some Serious Talent

This album really blows me away every time I listen to it. It reminds me of a heavier Dream Theater and at time some of these songs even surpass some of Dream Theater's more modern work, plus ISD are awesome live. They are super funny and nice, too.
These guys have a bright future ahead of them and I can't wait to see where the future will take them. Standout tracks are "Driving Home", "Monster", "With Death This Story Ends", "Breaking Through", and "Raven".
