Naked Keys . Margie Adam

I first heard this on a tape in 1980 and just stumbled across Margie Adam in iTunes and found her music to touch my spirit as deeply as it did over 20 years ago. So I guess you could say that it stands the test of time. Also, it's great traveling music and appropriate for the work place, very soothing.

Naked Keys by Margie Adam

This is one of my all time favorite instrumental collections. I first heard Ms. Adam play the piano in the early 1980's. The soulful and playful melodies just captured me and took me to a (musical) place I had never felt before. [This was long before I ever heard of meditation.] To say her music moves me, is an understatement. I have played through three albums, two cassettes, a CD and now it is on my ipod. Years ago, I would use her music to settle down my 6th grade class coming in from lunchtime. The students would listen to the (album) and either write about or draw what they heard or saw in her music. More than twenty-five years later, I still feel as passionate about this composition as I once did. It really is quite lovely.

Before Windham Hill .. there was Margie Adams

I first heard this album in 1980 at the Gramaphone on Woodward in Birmingham, Michigan. I was immediately smitten with the solo piano stylings-- I asked who was the artist and the name of the album. they told me it was only available at School Kidz Records in Ann Arbor Michigan because it was a limited label. The next day, I drove to Ann Arbor and bought a copy. This album (and recorded cassette) has been in my library for years. When iTunes began, it was NOT available--- so I'm so happy to be able to download and purchase it now. Margie Adams proceeded George Winston and all the rest--- soothing, melodic -- a great masterpiece!
