Amazing album! Pamela's best so far!
I have been a fan of Pamela's music since was recruited from her own band to be the voice of Sister Mary on Queensrÿche's Operation: Mindcrime. Sister Mary will always be Pamela to me but Pamela will always be more than Sister Mary. I have been lucky enough to experience Pamela perform outside of Sister Mary and it is an amazing experience! Her voice has such power and clarity and her stage presence is mesmerizing, even beyond Sister Mary. Resurrect Me takes Pamela's writing and singing to a new level. Sonically the album is well produced with full, in your face sound. The instrumentation is rich in texture with hooks and riffs that make you wanna move. Her voice is strong and full of expression, both on the rockers and the ballads. The whole album gives me goosebumps from beginning to end. While Pamela is skilled in singing many musical styles this is definitely a hard rock/metal album. She has definitely taken notes in her time being around the Queensryche guys and carried it forward with some nice modern touches. Guest appearances from Ralf Scheepers of Primal Fear and guitar wizard Jeff Loomis of Sanctuary and Nevermore fame just add to the sound. The lyrics are beautiful and very intriguing. They seem to tell a story of personal journey written from the heart.
I can't make up my mind on a favorite song because I like them all for various reasons but I can say the title track is EPIC! Very Savatage/TSO sounding, starting out slow and acoustic and builds sonically to a cathedral of sound that is bigger than the space it is played in. Definitely something to be played at volume. We are Damaged is a playful, teasing tune built around a steamy, sultry bass riff. Awakening highlights not only Pamela's power but her range as she hits some notes that are glass shattering. Breaking Down is a beautiful ballad that makes you wanna grab someone close to you and slow dance to gazing into their eyes. I could go on but you get the idea. Now you should get the CD and experience it all for yourself!
I can't wait to hear these songs played live! In the mean time I am sure this disc is going to get some heavy rotation around the house. I hear something new with each listen!
I love Pamela!!!
The Best ever I love her.
Pamela Moore Is Back!
The album kicks off with the heavy mid-tempo rhythm of Acquiescent, The orchestration in the title track is perfectly executed, creating a dramatic epic feel as the song builds in intensity until midway through the song when the chugging metallic guitars crank to ten and Pamela delivers the best vocal performance on the album filled with passion and emotional power. The hard rock returns on the fast paced metal of Desperate By Design. The albums closer Wide Awake (Phoenix Rising) has a great riff and harmony guitars with a fantastic lead and harmony vocal performance from Pamela. In conclusion, fans of Pamela Moore's previous work will be happy to know that like the phoenix, this classy and amazingly talented vocalist has risen from the ashes to deliver a highly entertaining metal album.
