Bella Bella

By far a awesome album. Stella has taken her art to the next level. Great album and if you can make it to a show, don't miss it. The next big thing is right here.

And Sister Soleil returns...

I thought I was done with Stella. I never bothered to check out her band with that Slipknot dude called Dirty Little Rabbits, but this release is a reminder of what always appealed to me about her to begin with. She has a very sensual, soulful, and unconventional vocal delivery, with lots of Kate Bush or Tori Amos-like histrionics. However, at the same time, she is unabashedly pop. It's puzzling how she didn't become more well known, at least in the pop realm.
