EDITORS’ NOTES

All-female Irish ensemble Celtic Woman shakes up their trad/pop fusion a bit with the addition of new vocalists Máiréad Carlin and Éabha McMahon, who join Susan McFadden and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt for an especially shimmering excursion into Irish crossover pop. The quartet once again handily reinterprets outside material, weaving The Waterboys’ classic Celtic rock anthem “The Whole of the Moon” into gossamer strands of ethereal folk, while swaying gently through Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire.” Irish traditionalists should be soothed by the jig-ready strains of "Siúil a Rún" and "Bean Pháidín."

Finally!

A collection of new songs! I've not bought the last two albums as they were the same songs done again. This album introduces new members, new sounds and new songs. If you are expecting as strong of vocals as the past albums you might be let down. This is not to say the recordings are bad but at times the music overpowers the vocals. In the past the lyrics came through strong and clear even in the most upbeat songs (i.e. When You Go) This time it is at times slightly difficult to understand the lyrics. I will say, Nesbitt is the one reason I will continue buying these albums. Her fiddle playing continues to come through time and time again. But well done overall! Finally new songs that are at par with the old ones!

metal fan

I'm generally a hard rock & metal fan, but these women are so talented that I have to stop and enjoy the beautiful sounds they produce. I love their live show and always look forward to their new material. This is another collection of their amazing talents.

Best CW Album So Far!!!!!

This is album is fantastic! These new singers are as wonderful if not better than the original women. My absolute favorite is Eabhea McMahon: she has an incredibly beautiful, unique voice. This album also contains a lot more Celtic roots, along with better arrangements of the music. Please come out with more like this, Celtic Woman!
