Album Review

Everything about this album boils down to expectations. Released by the remaining members of Sublime, with ample help from friends and guest musicians, Right Back is a loose collection of jams, half-realized songs, and silly, in your face attitude. Getting back to expectations — if you're looking for the kind of clever lyrics and ultra catchy melodies that Sublime frontman Brad Nowell was known for you're going to be deeply disappointed. However, even though the pop sheen is gone, the SoCal loose vibes and attitude remain throughout the album, aided by guest singers like Bad Brains' HR and dancehall star Barrington Levy.

True till the end

I'm so sick of the complaints people have against the Long Beach Dub All Stars. All I seem to hear is how they could never replace Sublime. Well, they never tried to replace Sublime. All the Long Beach Dub All-Stars did was try to continue life after Brads death (you can't expect them to give up music after they lose a band member). They respectfully changed their name (since they couldn't be Sublime without Brad). I love this band and the positive upbeat style they stand for. If all you are going to do is complain about the Dubs, then please go listen to your cookie cutter bands like Kelly Clarkson, and let the rest of us enjoy an amazing band.

Good tunes

acid and shrooms are both good in their own way

Right Back

Long Beach Dub All Stars first album after the death of Bradley Nowell. LBDAS debuet is catchy with songs featuring Half Pint and Barrington Levy. "Right Back" is pretty good but if your looking for the memorable lyrics you found from Sublime you will be disapointed. Rating 7/10, ***
