belongs to God
this piece reminds me of God's awakening of the Earth and it's blooming into what it was supposed to be. ten I through the music hear the battle and the turning over God gave Satan. The ending is God's revival.
It's interesting to see the Everest recordings on ITunes. They were made with a simple 3 mic system similar to that used by RCA for their Living Stereo recordings and by Mercury for their Living Presence recordings. And Everest's 35mm recording gear was later used by Bob Fine for the later Mercurys. Anyway, early issue Everests have a reputation as very fine recordings and my Everest LPs sound very good indeed. And this ITunes recording sounds very nice; quiet with no distortion. Excellent clarity and a nice spacious sound from a "black" background. I am very pleased with the sound and I'm comparing to the Reiner Shaded Dog LP and the Dorati Living Presence LP of the same piece played over excellent quality gear. Yes, I know it's heresy for an audiophile to think an ITunes recording sounds good. Maybe in my dotage I'm simply not as finicky as I used to be.
The performance is very good although IMO it lacks the power of Reiner and the CSO on RCA and the energy of Dorati and the Minneapolis Symphony on Mercury. My opinion and subject to change with more listens.
This is a very worthwhile purchase.
