iTunes Review

It’s easy to love Ringo Starr’s solo music because his amiable character and self-referential humor always stand out first and foremost. But with his 12th studio album Ringo Rama, the loud rocking guitars and catchy songs are more salient than his personality. Right from the get-go “Eye to Eye” opens with distorted guitar crunch, angular new-wave inspired arrangements and glammy backing vocals that all come together to sound like the kind of Britpop that fans of Oasis, Elastica, Blur and Supergrass can relate to. “I Think Therefore I Rock ‘n’ Roll” is another standout tune, with its good-time parlor piano, T.Rex-esque riffs, and gang vocals in the chorus. Hosting an eclectic array of contributing guest musicians like Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, David Gilmour, Shawn Colvin, Van Dyke Parks, Charlie Haden, and Timothy B. Schmit, there’s no doubt that this is indeed a party — Ringo Rama sounds like it was incredibly fun to make. Yet the former Beatle takes a moment to remember the late, great George Harrison on “Never Without You,” a loving tribute that’s memorable and moving without being maudlin.

I love the song I think therefore I rock n' roll. RINGO IS GREAT. Don't diss him just because he still is a great musician after the Beatles. I love the Beatles just as much as the next Crazy Beatles Fan, but I can still appreciate Paul and Ringo's individual accomplishments. Learn to do it to!

Age Has Done Nothing!

Ringo Starr has proven himself a great singer and drumer ever since he left the Beatles. Even into the 21st century. Some of his best songs on this album include: "Memphis in Your Mind", "I Think Therefore I Rock'n'Roll, and song with Country Music Star (No Pun Intended) "Write One For Me". Overall, an album that is worth it's weight in gold.

Genre: Rock

Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey, was the drummer in the Beatles from 1962 to 1970 and thus became one of the most famous musicians of the '60s. Though the least prominent member of the quartet, he distinguished himself as an occasional singer of good-natured material and as an actor. Upon the group's split, Starr went solo with two novelty projects: the first, an album called Sentimental Journey, found him covering pre-rock standards, and the second, Beaucoups of Blues, was a country music collection....
