Debut With A Lot of Potential

I've seen Sanctity twice now at Harpo's in Detroit. They were opening for the main acts like Trivium at one of the concerts, and the other they opened for Arch Enemy and Machine Head which was during the Black Crusade tour. That tour was kickass by the way. They put on an excellent show proving they are not just a studio band. The first time I heard them, they were not that impressive at least in the sense of their songs being memorable (they played very well though). Then on the Black Crusade Tour, I decided to give them another chance, and they really hit the nail on the head. The next morning I went to listen to some clips in itunes and I later bought the album. I was greatly surprised at the technical guitar playing much of this album displayed. The solos really take you back to the early Testament and Metallica-era. The vocalist has a pretty good yell but it could be a little less monotonous. Some of the riffs in the songs unfortunately seemed like fillers and could've been created in maybe 20 minutes. I am a guitarist so I have a good idea of what I'm talking about. There are a lot of memorable songs on here and others that just kind of blend in with each other. Once this band finds an original sound, I know they will go far and draw a lot more respect from the metal world. An overall successful debut that deserves a lot of credit.

This Cd defines thrash

I'll admit that the songs sound similar, but I don't give a crap, every song rocks.
