Sir Harry Lauder - Scotland's Star

Sir Harry Lauder was among the first superstars of music. He played around the world to sold out music halls - a fete not heard of in the early 20th century. His music is a mix of Scottish traditional song with a contemporary twist. He never seems to have a bad time when he's singing and entertaining. If you are looking for an introduction to Scottish pub music, this is the real McCoy. The stuff you hear on The Thistle and Shamrock on public radio does not compare to these early music hall masterpieces. This audio collection is a must for anyone researching early 20th century popular music and for those who want to impress any "authentic" Scotsman.
