Reseña de álbum

A duet classic, and perhaps the most popular album Roberta Flack made. Their single "Where Is the Love" dominated urban contemporary radio for almost the entire year, while "You've Got a Friend" was just as influential and was later covered by numerous artists (of course they didn't write it, but a lot of folks thought they did). It did so well that Flack eventually did other duet material and also became very close to Hathaway.

the birth of smooth soul

I'm not sure who wrote the album review, but Flack and Hathaway had been collaborating since their days as Howard University music students; this album didn't introduce them to each other, it introduced the *rest of the world* to their talent. From gospel to covers of James Taylor songs, this one was as good an album as ever there was. Everyone who admires good soul music should buy it. This is my third copy: first on wax, then cassette, now MP3. It's a classic and I recommend it highly.

This album is excellent.

This is one the best duet Rhythm and Blues albums ever made. You've Got a Friend, which has been covered by many artists outside of the R&B/Soul genre, is indeed a classic. Ms. Flack's and the late Mr. Hathaway's musical personalities clearly compliment each other. For all of you old school R&B/Soul duet fans, this is definitely the album for you.

Amazing voices

An album that I have loved for years, and recently returned to - in particular the Hathaway vocals on For All We Know and the duet on Come Ye Disconsolate - the sounds of gospel soar through the air - must have music from extraordinary talents.

Años de actividad: '60s, '70s

Donny Hathaway was one of the brightest new voices in soul music at the dawn of the '70s, possessed of a smooth, gospel-inflected romantic croon that was also at home on fiery protest material. Hathaway achieved his greatest commercial success as Roberta Flack's duet partner of choice, but sadly he's equally remembered for the tragic circumstances of his death — an apparent suicide at age 33. Hathaway was born October 1, 1945, in Chicago, but moved to St. Louis when he was very young, and began...
