Customer Reviews

pretty darn good...

I heard this album as background music at a Park Slope/Brooklyn restaurant and liked it so much I stopped the waitress to ask who it was. The music is interesting and well written and her voice is exquisite. People compare her voice to Chrissie Hynde, which is not far off on some songs. Other songs she reminds me a bit of Inara George, an indy singer from LA.

She's a whack job, but this album is fierce

You can almost hear her crazy in the music, but this album is pretty f*ing smart. She definitely has her own thing going on. It's a little bit pretenders, a little bit Heather Nova, a little bit of pure inspiration. The vocals make me think Beth Orton in her unwillingness to stretch for tough chords, but like Miss Orton she makes it work to her advantage. Parlor Window is my favorite. Trouble in the Palace is a great one too. Enjoy...
