Album Review

Pearl Jam's often forceful approach doesn't seem to lend itself to bedtime music, but Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Pearl Jam transforms the band's anthems and power ballads into twinkly soundtracks for naps. Relying on glockenspiel, xylophone, and other playful percussion, the songs with the strongest melodies ("Daughter," "Yellow Ledbetter," "Better Man") stand up the best to these radically different arrangements. Pearl Jam fans who are parents might prefer this to a generic collection of lullabies, and even childless fans might appreciate this for its sheer novelty value., Rovi

Customer Reviews

I have been waiting for this album but WHY THE FROG!

This would've been my all time favorite from you guys and I almost have them all but you ruined it with the darn frog! WHY?! I'm not one to ever complain and ask for things but I really need my money back for this! NOW I HATE FROGS and I'm so sad this great collection is ruined!

meh...

I love all your lullaby renditions but this one is NOT the best one. the frog totally kills it for me and the random offset ticks and tocks and lil popping sounds make it virtually unlisten-able (not a word I know) to adults. My children love it and thats really all that matters. As Pearl Jam is one of my all time favorite bands I had to get it, but it is the only one so far that doesn't get put on MY regular playlist as most of your other albums are. this one just feels "dumbed down" for the kiddies instead of getting the melodic lullaby treatment most of your other works have had.

The Frog

I heartily disagree about the friendly, little frog sounds. I love it.
