This piano rebel’s second duets album finds him tackling classics—often with the artists who made them famous. Mick Jagger helps turn the Stones’ “Dead Flowers” into even more of a croaky country lark, while John Fogerty lends supportive harmonies to the rootsy “Bad Moon Rising.” There are some novel new voices in play, too: Sheryl Crow and Jon Brion moonlight on a perky, ivory-tickling makeover of “You Are My Sunshine.” But even amid all those marquee names, Lewis’ world-weary voice is still the sturdy star.
