Album Review

Released in 2009, Rompiendo Cadenas is Latin Grammy Award-winner Ana Bárbara's tenth studio album, and her first since parting company with Fonovisa Records. Produced by the likes of Javier Calderón, Guillermo Gil, and Luny Tunes, its 11 self-penned tracks combine her trademark grupero sound with a more mainstream pop sensibility than her previous efforts. The album features the title track lead single and the hit "Que Ironia," which appears in its original form and in a remixed rock bonus track. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Customer Reviews

He seguido su carrera desde el primer disco, unos buenos otros no tanto pero siempre saliendo adelante, this is by far her Best récord in My opinión, good music, very catchy melodies, whit this material she's going to take her currier to the next level, long live to the queen of musica grupera!

amazing!!

Recognized for her music as well as her spellbinding sex appeal, Ana Bárbara skyrocketed to celebrity in Mexico in the mid-'90s and was quickly crowned "La Reina Grupera," for she not only dominated the grupero movement, but she was one of the driving forces behind the style's realization. Bárbara's music is often categorized as ranchera, which is indeed a key component of her style, but grupero is a more apt description, because it accounts for the many other aspects of her music, including elements...
