10 Songs, 39 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

“Well, a goodbye never seems finished,” sing Klara and Johanna Söderberg on “Distant Star.” Written in the shadow of Klara’s split from her fiancé, much of their fourth album examines the difficulty of moving on, delivering despair and confusion through breathtakingly pure harmonies. For all the lyrical reflection, there’s a keen sense of forward thinking within the music. “Postcard” and “Distant Star” may offer exquisitely classic Americana, but the duo also draw on dream pop (“Fireworks”) and rippling electronic (“My Wild Sweet Love”) before squeezing a brass band and rowdy, closing-time chorus into “Hem of Her Dress.”

Too Polished...

I really like the songs, lyrically, and musically, but the production is way too polished sounding.
Personally, I think ALL of these songs would have sounded much better with a whole lot of the Production Polishing taken down several notches, giving them a more raw, more live sound. I think that would have done these songs true justice.

They're probably great live.

First Aid Kit Speaks to Me

I’m a mostly emotionless 33-year old male, but the sound of this music has brought me to tears on multiple occasions. Somehow, this music emotionally connects me to two Swedish sisters in their twenties. Music is excellent. This album is excellent. I’m excited to listen to more of FAK as we age together. This is truly undeniable talent.

Infinity in 10 tracks

A pure canvas of musicality painted with all the colors of loss, passion and the hope in tomorrow. From the haunting to the hopeful this album delivers.
