EDITORS’ NOTES

So long Sasha Fierce. Queen Bey goes back to the future with a fourth album that trades some of her strutting blockbusters for timeless mid-tempo finger-snappers (“Love On Top”) and slow-burning ballads (“1+1”, “Best Thing I Never Had”). Not that 4 is in any way a banger-free zone. “Party” packs squelchy 90s soul, and the Major Lazer-sampling “Run the World (Girls)” totally brings the house down.

One of the best modern RnB albums

Mr Legiit,

Beyoncé really brings it with this modern day pop-infused RnB record. It arguably stands as one of her best albums to date. Drawing influences from Prince, Michael Jackson, and other pop/soul heavweights, she covers over the range of emotions often experienced with love and doesn't hold back.

Songs like Love On Top celebrate the joy of having love finally recognized, while bedroom tunes like Dance For You present a more sensual perspective. In short, this is a must have album if you're into modern as well as classic RnB.

OMG

Brandon Armand,

This woman is such an inspiration. But bey, did you really just re-release this? Its a work of art, but the promotion. Where is it? CALL IN PEPSI ON THIS. SOMEBODY.
