Music so good a lazy guy takes time to review it

I went to see a Livingston Taylor show the other night. He dragged Liz, clearly his favorite student at Berklee, out a few times to sing her songs. Her first song, "You've Got Trouble," is unreleased as of this writing. That part of my brain that enjoys music was instantly delighted by the sweet, varied, and nuanced voice, despite the fact that I prefer craggy, cracked, and broken voices to tell me about love. But the writer in me mugged music boy and stole the song for himself. Beautiful, simple, and original. Her writing. Is. I bought this CD and am pleased that it is an uninterrupted banquet of gorgeous music and finely cut lyrics. "Go On," of course, is the favorite. There are two more I like a little more than the rest, but you'll have to buy the CD to find those for yourself.

Soul Stirring Music

Every time I hear Liz Longley's music, it takes my heart on a journey. This cd "Somewhere in the Middle" gave me the chills from beginning to end, made me cry, and I even laughed out loud a bit. Liz is the kind of songwriter who has established her place in the human heart, and makes you NEED her music to survive. I could listen to a hundred Liz Longley records and still want to hear more. Fresh, original, relatable music that touches the soul. FIVE STARS!

the next big thang

liz has expertly blended elements of blues, country, folk and even jazz into her music while keeping it contemporary and accessible to the average listener. there is not a song i fast-forward past on this album. i am completely hooked.

"overdue", "ain't too good to be true" and "RUSH" are the real diamonds in the collection of gemstones.

keep them coming!
