Reseña de álbum

Sting scored a moderate comeback success greater than most had imagined possible with 1999's Brand New Day, reestablishing himself as a viable commercial artist instead of merely settling for "living legend" status. Part of this success was due to "Desert Rose," featuring vocalist Farhat Bouallagui's careening cadences that garnered attention, particularly when they were showcased in a car commercial that kicked the album into high commercial gear. Sting picks up on this, adding three guest vocalists to the ten-track Sacred Love album (the 11th track is a remix of the lead single, "Send Your Love" — which happens to be better, since it eliminates the rather annoying Indian-styled hook) — Vicente Amigo and Anoushka Shankar are paired with Mary J. Blige, who in this context is presented as a world music artist. Although Sacred Love, Rovi

Brand New Day evolved

Sacred Love feels a lot like an evolution of Brand New Day. The production is even more polished here, the songwriting is stronger and more consistent. While Sacred Love only has one track, The Book of my Life, that rivals the brilliance of A Thousand Years and Ghost Story from Brand New Day, it's stronger overall when it comes to lyrics and music. Inside starts the album off right; it's dark, moody and Sting seems more passionate than he's been in a long time. The album is full of solid tracks including Send Your Love, Dead Man's Rope, Never Coming Home and Stolen Car. The production on those is pretty polished, and this is the sound Sting seems to have been going for on this album for the most part. The exception to this is The Book of My Life, which is the masterpiece of this album, and one of the best songs Sting has ever written. Forget About the Future and This War are decent tracks, but nothing great. The title track also has its moments, but not a Sting classic. Sacred Love is one of Sting's strongest albums. Polished, well thought out, reflective and enjoyable.

Perfect blend

I personally think this is the perfect fusion of Rock, R&B, and Jazz styles. The melodous blend of different instruments, back ground vocals, and changes in tempo's for each. Should leave anyone whose never listened to, (much less heard of) Sting, or The Police, impressed. If you only listen to one CD to get a sample of an artist or group, this is the one to choose. Enjoy

Songs from the Labyrinth

Hauntingly beautiful and a challenging work on the part of the artists. For a rock star to take on Elizabethan music, and invest the time and energy that Sting, and the lutist, Edin Karamazov, have invested is unusual in itself. The album draws you in, and I find the tunes staying with me long after the musc is gone. Come Again is especially lovely. I highly recommend this album for lovers of classical music as well as for fans of Sting, and of Edin Karamazov. I doubt you will be disappointed.
