14 Songs, 53 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

SafetySuit turned left on this self-titled LP, embracing an electronic production style that was mostly absent from their earlier alt-rock releases. "Looking Up" uses a jaunty piano riff to bounce toward a rushing hook. On "Ordinary Girl," singer Doug Brown reaches his upper register over searing guitar and reverberating percussion worthy of Imagine Dragons. Even the power ballad "Beat of Your Heart" experiments with looped and layered vocals on its way to a glorious climax.

Their original sound is gone

I remember the feeling I got when I first heard "anywhere but here" and "what if" off the first album. Then the second album I had a similar feeling but not as strong of a feeling when I heard "believe" and "never stop". This album didn't give me any of that feeling. The first album had so much emotion and it was slow. The lyrics were phenomenal. These songs are so pop and general. They are the same sound and the same message. It sounds like they hurried the album but we all know it's been long enough since the last one that that's impossible. Saddens me that I waited until midnight and that it had no similarities to the first album. Safetysuit isn't the safetysuit from the life left to go album.

don't call it a comeback ;)

this has been almost five years in the making. SafetySuit never disappoints. their sound has evolved & shaped in the past, but this is it. this is pure SafetySuit. this is our guys. their optimism, positivity, motivation, & strength radiates through this music. this is such a feel-good album & meant to be listened to from start to finish, no shuffling! i feel like i have been reborn. this is simply perfect. i really didn't think they could top how amazing they were before, but they just keep getting better. keep it up, Doug, Tate, Jeremy, & Dave! you guys have my support forever. i love you more than words can explain. thank you for this. thank you for everything.

Great New Album

I know a lot of people are upset that it sounds different than their eariler stuff. I know these phenomenal guys write from the heart, they write from their lives and experiences. Life changes, therefore, music changes. I love all their stuff because it is so applicable! Way to rock it guys!!!
