Album Review

As with most country music greats, there is no shortage of Lefty Frizzell anthologies, so the arrival of something as bland-sounding as 16 Biggest Hits, especially in light of Columbia/Legacy's excellent 34-track Look What Thoughts Will Do collection, does little to prick up the ears of longtime fans. Most of the classics are here — "Saginaw, Michigan," "Long Black Veil," "If You've Got the Money I've Got the Time" — but the lack of "Shine, Shave, Shower (It's Saturday)" and "Run 'Em Off" makes 16 Biggest Hits more of a sampler than a legitimate overview.

Lefty Frizzell's Best!!!!!

If you have been looking for an excellent collection of Lefty Frizzell's biggest hits, then this is definitely what you have been looking for. You get all of the classics, including 'Saginaw, Michigan' and ' I Love you a Thousand Ways'. You can clearly see the influence that Lefty's singing had on singers such as Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakum. A must have collection for all true country music fans.

In the process, he changed the way country vocalists sang forever. From George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson to George Strait, John Anderson, Randy Travis, and...
