Your sexuality is not your personality

I've been following miss Esposito's career for years. And I love comedy. So please don't label me a "hater" when I say that this is NOT comedy! These are not jokes, these are not finely-crafted bits or anything of the sort. These are just stories about being a lesbian.
And as a result, this whole album — as well as her actual, in-person standup set (don't worry, I've seen her live MANY times) — tends to fall very flat, and isn't at all "fun", nevermind "funny.
If I wished to hear a young lady ramble about her sexual identity (which is possibly her ONLY identity, if her work so far is to be believed!) for an hour, I need only go down to the nearest café and sit down for a moment.
Therefore, asking me to PAY for what is essentially the same type of commentary, just because someone has given this woman a microphone and a stage, is absurd in my mind.
Until Ms. Esposito can stop fumbling around with stories of struggles, and dinky little projects like "side-mullet nation", and actually sit down to write some COMEDIC material, I'm afraid that I will not be purchasing any more of her releases, or tickets to her shows.
Your sexuality is not your personality, and it will not make up for the lack of one.

Pretentious and unfunny

let me just say, everything about this women's comedy is forceful and grating. She uses the minority card WAY too much and it ruins any semblence of comedy she might otherwise have had. Not even comedy really.

Not worth the $10

I had heard such great things about Cameron Esposito, so I was really disappointed when I listened to this album.
As a comedy fan, I understand that comics often play up who they are on stage for laughs; fat comics talk about their weight, asian/black comics about their race, and so on. However, Esposito didn’t just play up her sexual orientation, she let it dominate the entire album. After the tenth tired lesbian joke in a row, I was bored of the topic entirely. Esposito’s lesbian bits didn’t even seem original to me, they felt like throw away jokes Wanda Sykes would make in an interview.
I did crack a smile at a couple moments, but the comedy here does not seem genuine or fresh. Especially when you compare it to all the amazing comedians on the scene today. This would be acceptable at a local open mic for 20 people, but DEFINITELY not worth spending time or money on.
