Exceeds Any and All Expectations

I'm not some crazed Alien Ant Farm fan who's going to go on and on about how wonderful they are and how great the album is and how much I love every song. Truthfully, I do love (nearly) every song, and the songs that slipped through the cracks of a terrific album are good at the worst. I had the good fortune to see Alien Ant Farm a few months before the release of this album and was informed that their label Geffen had dropped them and they self-produced and marketed a full length album entitled "3rd Draft". Except for the addition of "Forgive & Forget" (a great radio-friendly single archetype), 'Up in the Attic' is identical. There is a song for every area of the musical populous. Tracks 1, 3, and 4 recall the brash post-metal of ANThology. "Lord Knows" and "Getting Closer" are two new approaches for AAF. "Consti2tion" rivals the melodic feel of the first 3 songs on truANT. "Around the Block" and "Crickets" are in contention for the best song ever recorded by AAF. This album is as close to flawless as you ever may encounter. Sadly, founding member, bass-player Tye Zamora (a pioneer of the highly original sound of AAF) has departed from the band to return to college, a decision I can only imagine he made after the heart-breaking release from Geffen. Maybe if Universal treats them a little better he will return? One can only hope...

Great Album

This is an awesome new album. I've listened to it since the first day I bought it at their concert at The Chance. I'll advise any Alien Ant Farm fan to buy and listen to this album. Its loaded with awesome songs and new ideas.

Great album, but its almost 2008 where is a new album guys? This album is great and the first 3 songs are some of the best the band has written

Biography

Formed: 1995 in Riverside, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The SoCal alt-metal foursome Alien Ant Farm formed in 1996 with the raging singer/songwriter Dryden Mitchell, guitarist Terry Corso, bassist Tye Zamora, and drummer Mike Cosgrove. All were bored with their day jobs and sought something else to break them from corporate norms. Music allowed them to freely express themselves, and a friendship was born. They independently released their quirky debut, Greatest Hits, toward the end of the '90s and soon enough noise surrounded the band. It won the award...
