Absolutely amazing

For all the people that go around thinking that electronic music artists have no talent, this completely proves them wrong. This is so good. There's the good old wonky, bass-heavy KOAN Sound with some added flavor of beautiful melodies and simply amazing production work. And thats just judged from the preview they released on soundcloud. Awesome work.

My favorite EP ever

This entire EP is amazing. I gave 4 of the 5 songs 5/5 stars. And I'm not one of those obsessed fans who gives everything 5/5 stars, I don't even like Koan Sound all that much. This is a beautiful EP, gives the feeling of hope stronger than anything I've ever heard before. A excellent balance of ambience with KS's traditional bass-heavy sound. Those ideas don't just balance, they blend perfectly. I hope that KS continue to make music like this.

Sanctuary - 5/5 [Good intro track. Unlike many other intro tracks, very good in it's own right I challenge you not to shudder at 4:55 or so.]
Starlite - 5/5 [Now we get into the signature KS sound a little more. Songs like this are proof that lyrics are not the only thing in music that evoke emotion. Perhaps, however, the short speaking segment around 3:06 will bring out the most of all.]
This Time Around (feat. Koo) - 5/5 [Most accessible track, also the longest, an unusual combination. Very well done.]
Fuego - 4/5 [My least favorite, a bit weak compared to the rest of the tracks but still good. Most similar to KS's older work IMO.]
Tetsuo's Redemption - 5/5 [By far my favorite track. Gorgeous feel, one of the best "drop"s (for lack of a better term) I've ever heard in EDM starting at about 0:53]

This is a little too slow for me. But it's excellently made and very beautiful to listen to. If you like this check out Blackmill, very similar slow with lots of piano but more synths.

Formed: 2008 in Bristol, UK

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '00s, '10s

U.K. electronic duo KOAN Sound was formed by producers Jim Bastow and Will Weeks in 2008 after the dissolution of several other musical projects. The pair grew their sound out of early electronic influences from acts like Amon Tobin and the Prodigy, working to develop a style that embraced darkness, dramatic use of space, and bass-heavy composition. KOAN Sound's first tracks were decidedly more dubstep oriented, and a 2011 self-released EP, Free, tended more toward that side of their sound. The Max...
