Well worth the wait

Sara Ramirez has the voice of a goddess. What is most interesting, aside from her obvious talent, is her versatility. Take a listen to the tracks that are available here and you will see exceptional talent across many genres. What you will hear is a vocalist who can inhabit a song, can make it her own, and make us all want to come along for the ride. The subtleties, the nuance, the growls and whispers, the clear pure tone, all this and more make it clear why the woman has a Tony award. With this album, she has gone out on a limb, offering up three original tracks that she has co-written with Rob Giles ( of The Rescues), along with her rendition of Phil Hanseroth's "The Story". My first experience with that song was from Brandi Carlisle, who certainly turned in a fine performance that won her a wide following. But, after hearing Sara Ramirez bring her considerable talent to the piece, I can easily say that I prefer Ramirez's work. Her interpretation, along with the emotion that she brings to the piece, really accentuates Hanseroth's lyric. There has been talk for quite sometime about Sara Ramirez releasing an album. For her fans, the wait is finally over, and these tracks are worth the wait. Brava, Sara!

'A' for effort

...But no one sings "The Story" like Brandi Carlile. I just don't feel it the same way as I do when I listen to Carlile's version. If you haven't heard it (or even knew it existed) I highly recommend it.

Keep up the good work Sara!

This is amazing. Sara is so talented. Her voice is beautiful. Worth every penny.
