Album Review

After five albums (six, if you count their demo Fist for Fight), World War Live: Battle of the Baltic Sea is the Swedish power metal band Sabaton's first live album. Recorded during their self-organized Sabaton Cruise 2010 (where they played a concert on a cruise ship), the band performs recent songs from its 2010 album Coat of Arms as well as classics such as "Cliffs of Gallipoli" and "Primo Victoria," including the original Swedish-language introductions by singer Joakim Broden between the songs. The limited edition contains a second CD featuring a concert recorded during the World War Tour 2010 (only one song from the first CD is duplicated in the 12-track playlist of the second show: "40:1") plus a DVD of a concert played at Rockstad Falun in 2008.

Fantastic group!

I discovered recently this band ironically enough through a Wikipedia article i was reading about the actor Peter Stormare who happens to be Swedish, and their name came up so i decided to look them up on iTunes and give them a listen. Well, i was so pleased that i came across these guys because they are absolutely phenomenal! My dad was a WWII army veteran who had a really close call with a German Panzer tank in Italy in '43....and i'm a disabled Vietnam vet who served with the 101st Airborne in 'Nam from 68-70 so these songs of war are very personal to me, especially the track "Screaming Eagles", which is the nickname given to the 101st, so when i listened to that song along with some of the other tracks like "40:1" and "Final Solution" & "War Machine" i was really moved by them and just stunned at how talented these guys are and how much emotion they put in their songs....they really sing from the heart. If you like powerful metal ballads then you'll definitely love Sabaton, especially when they're singing about historical events with such power & meaning. Even if you're just a heavy metal fan you'll love this group. There are also some really great guitar riffs and harmonies. I'm so glad i found them, they're DEFINITELY worth a listen....highly recommended....very powerful stuff!!

Great album

Sabaton has never disappointed me ever and this album just makes me want to jam whenever I listen to it.
