A must buy for ANY melodic death metal fan!!!

First of all... this band has been around for 10 years. If you check out their older stuff, compare it to this... you'll see how much this band has progressed. They've come a long way to get here... So... This the new album, MANIFESTO, released in the USA on January 20th, (Germany and Europe got dates around November 17th/20th). This album is very technical, very heavy and very addictive. I recommend you buy their earlier CD "WOLVES" first, then buy this. "Wolves" was just as good, but MANIFESTO blows this out of the water!!! The Moribund Choir vs The Trumpets of Armageddon- 5/5. It's very energetic, techno-ish, still some of Deadlock's best intros... (I'd say "Opening the Gates" and "World Domination" were the best). This also leads into... Martyr to Science- 5/5. Very fast, very heavy, and when Sabine's voice (the female singer) comes in it gives you a feeling of an audible orgasm. MUST BUY. Slaughter's Palace- 5/5. A very technical song, with fast riffs, one amazing solo, and an addicting middle. MUST BUY. The Brave/Agony Applause- 5/5. This was the first single off the new CD, and it's a MUST HAVE! If you haven't heard it, download it and tell me you can't get enough of it! Very addicting, very promising... ITS DEADLOCK! Deathrace- 5/5. Possibly the best song off this CD. It is the longest song, has one hell of a solo, and heavy fast guitar riffs. At the end, you're in for one nice surprise. ;) Fire At Will- 5/5. AMAZING! ENOUGH SAID! MUST BUY! And a saxophone is also included at the end! VERY COOL! Seal Slayer- 5/5. This song was also called "Kill Kill Kill" but it was remastered and mixed, and it sounds like a monster still!!! MUST BUY! Manifesto- 5/5. A nice intro to the best song and heaviest song off this CD... Dying Breed- 6/5. I gave this 6 out of 5 because this is the best song off the CD. It contains the singer from Scar Symmetry and a VERY VERY ADDICTING AND HEAVY HEADBANGING ATMOSPHERE! MUST BUY! Altruism- 5/5. Sabine's work in an Apocalyptica style song is acheived and her voice is BEAUTIFUL. MUST BUY! Temple of Love- 5/5. Last but not least... DL's cover from another band (Sister Sin, I believe?) and with keyboards and the atmosphere very promising... it's an epic finale... MUST BUY! I know I wrote MUST BUY many times, but really... if you bought WOLVES, you need this CD. This will get a 10/10. It has acheived every definition of HEAVY METAL possible. Not to mention, it has plenty of surprises that some of DL's early fans since the 2000's will be pleased with. MANIFESTO is the best CD so far, and it's a monster. One that will wipe your face off from DL's previous work. BUY THE ALBUM!!!!

Death Metal with a beauty and the beast contrast

Sometimes I really love this band because they really are different and unique. I loved "Code of Honor" from "Wolves" and really like many of the cuts on this album. "Fire at Will" , "Seal Slayer" and "Martyr to Science" are standouts for me. The female vocalist is melodic but strong enough to make a great counterpoint to the harsh growling death vocals of the male singer. The band just beats the heck out of you with fast drums and riffs. Ignore the main review here that says their style is just like any other beauty and beast can't mistake them for anyone but themselves once you've heard them.

These group is amazing!!

I have all the albums by Deadlock, and in my opinion they are one of the best groups out there. They combine so many different elements in their music which in turn makes every album a must listen too. They never get old or dead sounding in there style. The continue to be in the forefront of hard core and melodic mixed. Highly recommend anything they have done!!

Schwarzenfeld, Germany's Deadlock first came into existence in 1998 but underwent numerous alterations to both their sound and personnel before arriving at a complex fusion of death and gothic metal, topped with the "beauty and the beast" vocals of Sabine Weniger and Johannes Prem for their 2001 debut album, The Arrival. The group was rounded out by guitarists Sebastian Reichl and Gert Rymen, bassist Thomas Huschka, and drummer Tobias Graf, and their follow-up efforts, Earth.Revolt (2005) and Wolves...
