Third Time's The Charm!

After a subpar sophomore effort, Quietdrive's 3rd full length is not only a fine return to the form, but even exceeded my expectations. 3 or 4 solid singles, excellent filler material, nice diversity... This is how it's supposed to be done! Sure there may be a rough spot or two, but overall Quietddrive has delievered the type of album early fans have been hoping for. Bravo!

blew my mind

I've been listening to Quietdrive for four years and they have never failed to impress. This album is no exception. I'm blown away by how much they've matured musically. Kevin has definitely upped his game when it comes to writing, and this time he had help from former band mate Droo Hastings. Together are are unstoppable. Body Out of Bed is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Liz Akavan's vocals are breathe taking. I'm very happy with their choice to include her. They've somehow kept the "Quietdrive" in the songs but added a little umph to all of them. I'm so proud of them. I see great things in their futures.

On a side note. Over the past year I've seen them go through a lot, and been around throughout the writing and recording process. I live not to far away from most of them and I've been blessed to have Justin has a guitar teacher. They've all grown up so much, having kids, settling down. I couldn't ask for a better group of people. Even though they've had to scale back a bit to take care of their families, they've still been there for their fans. This album has a lot of sweat in tears in it, so please take a listen.

good album but...

the "new" version of their previous song Birthday is not necessary. LOL. Not close to being as great as their first version off Deliverance. Otherwise, great album, great band. Hopefully these guys are able to play an acoustic set at Y101 (KWYE) soon, check us out.

Formed: 2003 in Minneapolis, MN

Years Active: '00s

The Minneapolis, MN-based quintet Quietdrive formed in 2003 when friends Brandon Lanier (drums), Droo Hastings (bass), and Justin Bonhiver (guitar) heard some MP3s posted online by singer Kevin Truckenmiller and contacted him about starting a band. Truckenmiller agreed, bringing in college friend Matt Kirby (guitar, vocals) to complete the group. Quietdrive then spent the next year and a half touring around the Midwest, gaining attention both from their live show and their MySpace site. Shortly after...
