Jenny Mae continues integrating diverse elements into her own unique style on her second album, Don't Wait Up for Me. This time around, Mae polishes the production, shining a new light on her songwriting skills and wide-ranging musical ideas. Horns, including Mae's own trumpet, piano, guitar and keyboards add sophistication to her sweetly sad, smart musings on songs like "Valentine's Day" and "Cowboy Song." "Drapes" and "Hey Baby" rock confidently, and "Dairy Boy" creates a funky, elegant ambience.
