The Best Rock Album Of 2008

Very good debut CD from Scars On Broadway. Below is my review for the album. Serious - Very good opener.5/5 Funny - Good song, just not a big fan of the keyboard. 4/5 Exploding / Reloading - Overall a good song, too bad they had to change the original name. 5/5 Stoner-Hate - The lyrics sound like something you'd hear from S.O.A.D. 5/5 Insane - Didn't like this one at first, but it's grown on me. 5/5 World Long Gone - Good song. 5/5 Kill Each Other / Live Forever - One of my favorites, love the chorus. 5/5 Babylon - Like 'Insane' it grew on me. 4/5 Chemicals - Once again, System-like lyrics. 5/5 Enemy - Awesome chorus, 'We're on Drugs!'. 5/5 Universe - The verses are my favorite part. 5/5 3005 - My favorite song on the album. Very cool lyrics. 5/5 Cute Machines - My least favorite song on the album. 2/5 Whoring Streets - My second favorite song. Awesome verses. 5/5 They Say - Great way to close the album. 5/5 I have two opinions about this album: 1)This is so far the best album of 2008. 2)This album is better than Serj's debut.

As Good As I Thought It Would Be

When I saw these guys open for Metallica in May at the Wiltern, I was aware of Scars but had not heard a single song of theirs. Their set blew me away. I walked away with their songs stuck in my head. That's pretty amazing considering this was the only time I had heard any of their songs and had no access to their music. I knew that these were catchy songs and if they sounded this good live, then their studio album was going to be amazing. I was right! There is not a bad song on this album. I wouldn't even go so far as to recomend a specific song, there all excellent and this album should be listened to as a whole. This is a band, not a solo album. Fans of S.O.A.D. will find this more satisfying than Serj's solo album. This sounds much more like S.O.A.D. which makes sense since John is on drums. This is a very good album. Daron is a truly talented musician. In an age of Disney bands and American Idol garbage, Daron gives the rock world a much needed kick in the arse!

Just To Make Things Clear

For those of u who think thats it SOAD is history and not coming back, well you're completely wrong, this is what is called "A SIDE PROJECT", in an interview Daron made it clear that System of a Down will come back maybe in late 2009 or 2010, and ask for Serj, he also said it wasn't the end for SOAD, he said they will take a break "or HIATUS" to create side projects. So please don't start writing reviews about how daron and john aren't going to back to System when u don't even know half of the story. Btw i really enjoyed this album as much as i liked Serj Tankian's Elect the Dead, I think Daron is trying to go back to the Toxicity roots which really makes me happy. I think these side projects will really influence System of a Down in the future and when they get back they will develop a highly groundbreaking album!

Biography

Formed: 2005 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s

The Daron Malakian-led rock and metal project formed by the System of a Down guitarist after that band decided to take an extended break following their Mezmerize and Hypnotize releases, Scars on Broadway came to life in late 2005 and early 2006. While some demos appeared (a 2003 collection labeled Ghetto Blaster Rehearsals) that were credited to Scars, Malakian has disavowed the link between the current project and the one on the tape. That disbanded project, which featured Shavo Odadjian and Casey...
