A Solid Slab of Sleaze

Gemini Five's latest is undoubtedly their best, with a really heavy and consistent group of songs fans of 80s metal and the new wave of Swedish Sleaze (with bands like Crashdiet and Hardcore Superstar) will absolutely love.

Track 1: Just the intro, can't really rate it
Track 2: The album opens up with the first in a series of absolute home runs. "I am Hollow" may not have the hooks of some of the next few tracks, but it is so solid. 4.5/5
Track 3: The best song on the album. Just as heavy as it is catchy with a killer chorus and pre-chorus 5/5
Track 4: The song dedicated to Dave Leppard, Crashdiet's original lead singer does not disappoint. As soon as you hear the first "Come on!" you know your hooked! 4.75/5
Track 5: A really great song with some really cheesy 80s-metal style lyrics. Equally as fun and heavy as the previous tune. 4.75/5
Track 6: The second best song, and only beaten out by a smidge. The title track isn't as lively as some others, but it's got a killer hook and rocks out as hard as anything else on the album. 5/5
Track 7: A great boot-stomper in a style that's very reminiscent of Ratt. Great song. 4.75/5
Track 8: The only song on the record I really don't get. The chorus actually slows down and seems to plod along a little bit, instead of catapulting the song like most of the other tracks. 3/5
Track 9: Another gem. Starts out kind of ballad-y-ish but kicks into a great, but not as heavy, rocker. 4.75/5
Track 10: The lightest song on the album, especially in the chorus. At the same time it's energy is refreshing, although the chorus almost feels a little out of place. A little. 4/5
Track 11: There's nothing really special about this track. It's fairly a fairly solid rocker, but nothing spectacular, like so many before it. 3.5/5
Track 12: If the album has a "power ballad" then this is it. It's really quite good and still manages to be heavy instead of cheesy. It's chorus lacks the huge hook that would put it over the edge, but it's a great closer to a great record. 4/5
