Isn't It Amazing...

... When you listen to a live album and you listen to a studio album (by the same artist) and realize that they sound almost exactly the same?! It's nice to know that there are still singer's who know how to sing in this world without autotune, and all the other computer gizmos.

I've been to Angel's concert once before and I absolutely loved it! She's bubbly, fun, and she really is funny (With those fun stories she tells)! Plus it doesn't hurt that her voice is Fantastic! ;) I think if you really listen to this you might like it. This was nice of Angel to put this out there for her true fans, and also the other people who really like her music too :) The Covers are a really fun bonus she put in for us! (There are always those few people in the world who give it 1 star since she did a cover and it's not by their band, Come On!)

I ask you, Please just listen to it once and see what you think. You might be surprised. :D

This is the recording I was looking for

When I saw Angel Taylor open for the Five for Fighting acoustic concert in Chicago last October, I was completely blown away. At most shows, when the opener comes on stage, about half the crowd pays attention while the other half contributes to the general background buzz of chatter and movement which persists throughout the set and only stops when the main act finally hits the stage; not at this concert. When Angel started singing the entire room stopped, we had no idea who this girl on the stage was but she certainly had our attention. By the time her set had ended I along with several other people in my row knew we were going to pick up her album (I know this because I saw saw copies of the album in their hands as they left). When I went to listen to the album the next day, however, I was severely disappointed. The album had been extremely overproduced. Songs like Spinning Wheels sounded like they had all the heart stripped out of them in order to make them more "radio friendly". I eventually tracked down an NPR free concert recording which was more like what I had heard live. The quality wasn't the best, but it was good enough, so I chopped it into separate tracks and have been listening to it for the last 9 months. No longer. This is the recording I was looking for - a recording where I you can hear the passion in her voice, where you can tangibly feel how much the lyrics mean to her, and where the backing instrumentals serve to support that feeling, rather than detract from it. This passion, this emotion reminds you of and reconnects you to past experiences; and it is these types of connections which allow a song to really hit home for large numbers of listeners. Angel Taylor has this ability and this is what leaves me convinced that she is only destined for bigger and better things. Finally, there is a recording which exhibits this ability and which allows one to re-experience it over and over. That is what makes this EP special, not the new covers (which are, themselves, quite good); and that is why you really should consider spending the $5.99 on all 7 songs, even if you already own the album versions of the other 5 songs. Honestly, the album versions are nothing compared to these recordings.

She has a god given gift

I met Angel after her performance in the Rennisance Hotel and she sung me one of her songs and it was breath taking she is absolutely amazing and the emotion in her songs are amazing

Years Active:

Angel Taylor cut her teeth in various coffee shops in Southern California, where she honed her mix of mainstream pop/rock and singer/songwriter balladry. Several weeks before her freshman year of college, she made contact with producer Mikal Blue, who had previously worked with such marketable songwriters as Colbie Caillat and Brendan James. Blue took an interest in Taylor and flew her to New York City, where he helped negotiate a contract with Aware/Columbia...
