About Palm

Formed in the early 2010s by college undergrads in Upstate New York, Palm is a four-piece with a warped and circuitous take on math rock. Their debut album, 2015's Trading Basics, was released by Exploding in Sound and Inflated Records and featured the guitar work of co-vocalists Eve Alpert and Kasra Kurt, with Gerasimos Livitanos on bass and Hugo Stanley on drums. After relocating to Philadelphia and touring nationally a few times over, they signed with Carpark Records. With cleaner production but just as shambling and unpredictable, the Shadow Expert EP arrived in 2017. Just a year later, the band returned with "Pearly," the lead single from what would be their sophomore long-player. Working again with engineer Matt Labozza (Kings Destroy, Chumps), the band recorded Rock Island in a rented farmhouse in upstate New York. ~ Marcy Donelson
