This record was originally released back in 2002 as a 'best of' mixtape of 12" recordings. DJ JS-1 does a great job of blending all 18 tracks. Even though the songs here are extremely solid (ie. Deacon's "Woodgrain" or Tonedeff's "Heads Up"), these are merely glimpses into the fine-tuned musical polish this crew would produce on their subsequent releases (Asterisks:Two, Three and the stelllar Four).
Other standout tracks include "Arrogant" (listed as one of iTunes Essential Posse Cuts), "Clear Em Out (f/ KRS)" which ignited a firestorm with Nelly in the media and the awe inspiring "Most High" where Tonedeff hits a blistering 13.5 syllables-per-second in his final verse.
All in all, this is a great collection of early QN5 treats and a must for any fan.
