Drummin' Songs & Jam Alongs

Serious FUN for all the young drummers and drummers-young-at-heart. Dave's infectious and groovy energy seeps into every song - he kept us boppin' and jammin' through the whole album. "Play it AGAIN!" was what my little nephews said after we had danced to every tune. These are some great tunes that will really stick! You'll be singing and groovin' to the beats long after the player has stopped. Thanks Dave, for the gift of this great music!

Play it AGAIN!!

Our 2.5 year old LOVES the new Dave Holland CD. He is such a great drummer and story teller and his talent comes though on every track. I can’t help smacking the steering wheel ever time drummin and drivin comes on and we can’t get Back Seat Samba out of our heads. From the first note our daughter jumps in excitement, singing along and knowing what song comes next. You will not be disappointed if you buy this CD!

At last! A cool CD for kids.

What a fun CD! The music is so groovy I forgot I was listening to a 'kids' cd! The songs are all so creative, wholesome and positive. Hard to get out of your head. My favorites are 'Show me your Smile' with its calypso feel, and 'DRUM' with the samba sound. This CD will have the whole family drumming along together. Your kids will love it.

Dave Holland is of a generation of bassists who, in the '60s and '70s, built upon the innovations of slightly older players like Scott LaFaro, Gary Peacock, and Barre Phillips, carrying the instrument to yet another new level of creativity. Along with contemporaries like Eddie Gómez, Miroslav Vitous, and Barry Guy, Holland helped refine and extend the melodic possibilities of the cumbersome double bass. In Holland's case, those refinements never lost touch with the core verities of straight-ahead...
