Mr. Fertita certainly lives up to his background. Literally all of the songs of Hello=Fire are well written, carefully produced, and basically all-around awesome. All 11 tracks maintain a beautiful, distinctive, and almost spacey feel-- while ranging from captivatingly relaxing tracks like Nature Of Our Minds, to rockers like Certain Circles. Dean has certainly proven himself as an amazing songwriter and musician; the result is a completely solid album that I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

He plays guitar for The Dead Weather and keyboards for Queens of the Stone Age, but now Dean Fertita steps out on his own with this eclectic collection of carefully crafted pop tunes. It's an upbeat and solidly entertaining album that recalls bands like The Kinks, Love, and The Velvet Underground. The songs range in style from driving to dreamy but they all share the joyful exuberance of a songwriter indulging his abundant creativity. Throughout the album Fertita displays a knack for clever arrangements and infectious grooves that are beyond enjoyable, they're memorable. Standouts include "She Gets Remote", "Someplace Spacious", "Parallel" and the absolutely gorgeous "Nature of Our Minds". The whole album is a showcase for Fertita's expansive musical imagination and tremendous technical talents. It goes to show that if he were unleashed within his other bands he could give both Josh Homme and Jack White a run for their money. Brilliant!
