iTunes Review

With his heavy-lidded delivery, warmly burnished voice, and hotshot guitar work, Keb' Mo' emerged onto the '90s blues scene as an uncanny amalgam of the present and the past. Tracks like the grainy, stripped-down "Love Blues" and "Am I Wrong" evoke the soulful grit of John Lee Hooker. Elsewhere, full-scale productions like the uptempo "Come on in My Kitchen" and heavy-hearted ballad "Don't Try to Explain" glisten with the unmistakable sheen of classic '90s adult-contemporary production while keeping the vocals and guitar dead center.

Incredible

Keb' Mo' has one of the greatest voices in music, period. In my opinion, "Anybody Seen My Girl" is the greatest song ever. "Victims of Comfort" shows how much heart and soul he puts into his music. You have to experience this guy's music. There's no one quite like him.

Just what the Blue's Doctor ordered

Every connoisseur of American music should own this Keb Mo album. This is one of the best representations of what contemporary Folk/Blues guitar music can be and should be: toe-tapping arrangements; thoughtful lyrics artfully wrapping everyday experiences, situations and feelings; and well-produced, but semi-live sounding performance and mix. For my collection of favorites, Keb Mo sets between the more polished and commercial sounds of Robert Cray, and the down-home Reggae/Blues-inspired, folksy style of Corey Harris. Although many tunes like “Every Morning”, “Love Blues”, “Am I Wrong”, “Kindharted Woman Blues”, “Anybody Seen My Girl” and “Dirty Low Down and Bad” (one of my favorite guitar songs to play myself) are just Keb and his guitar (steel-string slide or picking style), one selection like “Tell Everybody I Know”, “Angelina”, “Come in My Kitchen” and “She Just Wants to Dance” are full-band productions. This is good stuff. It is one of those cherished albums in my collection that will get constant replay.

American Artist

I have loved this album for years. Keb' Mo' has so much soul and great lyrics.Definitely an American artist with one-of-a-kind talent.
