24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault (Deluxe Version)

These songs date from 1969 to 1995, with most written during Stevie Nicks' commercial peak in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. The sessions, however, are recent, with producer Dave Stewart playing close attention to the FM-radio classic rock feel that fits Nicks’ voice to perfection. Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and keyboardist Benmont Tench join L.A. supersession man Waddy Wachtel, but it’s Nicks’ songwriting that stands out. How she held these songs back is a mystery. This is first-rate material that makes for her finest solo album.
