If you like ___ You'll love this

Aren't we always in search of comparable artists when you run into fresh music. SHEL is fresh but I believe you will hear some great qualities that sound Nickel Creek, The Roches, and might I even dare say The Beatles. Nickel Creek sound is evident in Eva's flawless mandolin work through the CD highlighted in Tuscany. The Roches is such an easy comparison because family voices blend best, but Vinyl Memories could easily be The Roches in their unique way to come in and out of a song plus the Latest & Greatest show their same light humor. Now The Beatle reference isn't as obvious but as I was listening through the CD I kept coming back to arrangement so familiar to a Sgt Peppers "She's leaving Home" or "Fixing a hole" Maybe it was the harmonies, the great way they utilized rising and falling strings, or the texture... some about this unique new music is that it's familiar and quality, and you'll play it endlessly.

Another vote for a great group!

I am really knocked out by this first album by SHEL, and look forward to hearing more from them in the future. It's difficult for me to decide what genre the music falls into, but I know what I like and I am loving this! beautiful melodies and arrangements- their music is a joy to listen to.

I love Shel! Saw them in Chicago and they are truly talented!

Their creative talents were nurtured from a young age by their mother, an artist, and father, singer/songwriter Andrew Holbrook. Prior to branching out on their own in 2005, the sisters were part of a family band with their father....
