Album Review

Tom Jones Gold is a two-disc, 42-track set that does an admirable job of mixing all his major hits recorded between 1965 and 1975 for the American Parrot label with well-chosen album tracks and B-sides. Interestingly, the U.K. Deram versions of Jones' singles and albums would occasionally differ slightly from the U.S. releases. All eight of those tracks are wisely included on Gold along with remastered favorites like "Delilah," "She's a Lady," "What's New Pussycat?" "Green, Green Grass of Home," "I (Who Have Nothing)" and "Help Yourself." Recommended for those who want to go a step beyond the average greatest-hits package.

Tom Jones: A Legend

The brilliant Welshman is musical legend. This album is not only a reflection of that but also a great collection of his best and some that have been over looked over the years. This is the definitive album for the Tom Jones fan or new fan. To this day the man has still got it.

Tom Jones is a one of a kind entertainer

Tom Jones singing is so powerful and he has terrific range that I just become mesmerized by him. Its sad to think there have been only a few entertainers to do quality music of his caliber and once he is gone ,his music will be his legacy. I thought one time I saw somebody walking on the water over the ocean one day, he was about 100 feet out and the waves kept rolling around him keeping his clothes dry , I looked again it was Tom Jones . I wasn't surprised. I grew up as a kid thinking he's great and still think hes the ultimate performer . Thanks Tom for many years of making great music.

The Man!

Holey S**t, the dude can sing! Tom Jones is the man! This is real talent folks. Looking to round out the music collection, this is just the ticket.

Tom Jones (not to be confused with the Welsh-born singer who uses the same name) is part of that increasingly rare breed of songwriter/lyricists. He's also a notably successful one, based on the hundreds of recordings that exist of "Much More," "Try to Remember," "Soon It's Gonna Rain," and "They Were You," all co-authored by Jones and composer Harvey Schmidt in their most successful work, The Fantasticks. Tom Jones never set out to be a lyricist. Born to a poor family in Littlefield, Texas, his...
